| HISTORY My dancing career began at the age of 8. I began dancing with THE MEXICAN FOLKLORIC DANCE COMPANY OF CHICAGO (presently known as MexFolDanCo) under the instructioon of Mayela Valles and Ofelia Solano-Guevara. Two years later, I became a member of HORIZONTES MEXICANOS DE DANZA FOLKLORICA (HMDF), which was created by the initiators of MexFolDanCo, Serafin Guevara & Ofelia Solano-Guevara. Since 1989, HMDF has grown to be one of Chicago's finest dance troupes. And it was there that my talent was nurtured to be one of HMDF's finest dancers! Thanks to HMDF, my love and passion for dance grew day by day, year by year. In September 0f 2001, I bade farewell to my "second home", but today I have breathed life into: Ballet Folklorico Anoranza Mexicana Producciones Alcantar Thanks to Serafin & Ofelia, I am prepared to carry on their gift to others who wish to pursue a career or hobby in dance. Serafin & Ofelia, I owe this all to you, you are a big part of my life, both of you will always hold a special place in my heart. My HMDF "companeros" I learned plenty from you guys, keep on dancing! "Pandora" one and inseperable! |
