Witnness Weekends
This is Danny's Version of the weekend
Friday
After packin Beer, Cocktail extraordinaire, Tent and a few extras the night before I fell out da door of my house in Sligo and into da parents car. Free lift nice one. So I arrive in Punchestown (with what is to be my home over the next few days on my back) to somewhat of a confused festi. No-one seemed to know where the campsite was. So I eventually find it and I get on the phone to stoney who is of course more lost than me. With my cocktail and a few cans tucked into before he and da other tralee lads arrive I was in the best o moods to get the tent piched there and then. So we find a great spot way up da back away from the majority of crowd that were to stumble bak late at night. I got to know stoney's friends. All sound and def up 4 da craic. So after we had a couple more cans in us we decided it was time to go for a walk. So we walked towards the chipper. Where else you gonna go after drinkin? Tappin around with da ball and checkin out da talent, we soon found a comfy piece o grass to luy on and hav a wee chat. Then it was back up to da tents for more supplies. We missed da start o Jerry Fish and the Mudbug club, but the cheerin jus drew us to it. And my what a performance. He had us hoppin around the shop before he wanted us to "GET DOWN". So he finished at 12 or so and we went up 2 da tents accompanied by 3 lovely Kerry women dat stoney "kinda knows". So drinkin bak at the campsite and relaxin we had a great start to the weekend. Fell asleep fairly early and my I needed the rest
Saturday
Woke up after three good hours sleep. Loads of people where already party'n around the tent. The first thing I heard was "Ha, ha  some fat chick raped young Gary", someone def had a good night(Fat chick that is). So i had my frosties breakfast Dutch style of course(no milk)nd a few oranges I had bought in Marks&Spensers, before getting dressed to hit da music. After six or so more duchies I motivated the lads into moving away from the campsite. On the way up to the stages we reminised on a very phisiological chat we were having about the meaning of life and the sturcture of the english language. With such great quotes as"Why do we need a 'gh' in words like night wen nite is what it sounds like.
So we arrived jus as The Revs were taking the stage. We listened to their noise but we weren't really concentrating on it. Then Frank rang me and I had to go find him. So after a while I had Frank nd Jack settled in the campsite and we were back in time for the end of mundy. Then we met up with Peter and Paul nd co. We made our way up to the rising tent to see The Thrills. But first Appleton were on. SO what can I say about that little experiance. Well the music was shit. The girls were damn hot nd they had tits printed on their t-shirts. And with me at the front row, why wouldn't you hear show us ur tits on 2fm. Thats right folks I can be lowd.sometimes. Then their tape broke so they had to leave early. Happy days. Then we were amazed by the thrills of The thrills. Frank said after that their performance was woth the price of the ticket and I do agree. It was crazy. After we saw Damien Rice kick ass on the main stage followed by a sweet performance from coldplay. Retiring bak to da campsite we all met up again for an auld drinkin session in my tent. However 2 o da lads had their bags nickd so it was a bummer really.
Sunday
Woke up to the sweet sound of Hippies in the sun. And no thats not a band. Completely wrecked from the previous days drinkin I was more than happy to luy there for the day. I watched the hippy human pyramids, which were always funny as you knew someone was gonna splatter themself. But gandalf dragged us up to the music eventually. There we found a sweet bit o grass to luy on for the day. And I tell you there were only 5 reasons i got up off my ass wen i got there:
1 To buy a beer
2 To go see BellX1 Paddy Casey and some other acts that were on other stages.
3 To take a piss
4 To go back to the campsite to get my beer
5 To leave

So who did we see. Well reason number two with all the main stage. A better mix of music than Saturday but I was just too Fucked to appreciate it
Monday
Waking up this morning was quite different. Security with loudspeakers knockin on the tent door.
"Right folks time to go home the festival is over". Not very welcome awakening I have to say. But in fairness it was my fourth day in Punchestown and I only had a two day camping ticket. So it was time to bring the house down. Pack everything up and fuck off home. The lads had a wander around for some freebies left behind by other campers that had already left.
After about a hour or so we regrouped for the final time and then headed on our seperate ways.
Me? I got Dublin bus into the city where I got the best meal I had had in five days. Macky D's eurosaver. Then I headed onto the bus to Sligo for a sad sad journey back to the real world.

Its been emotional
