What a year 02/03 has been here in UL. who would have believed so many things could be crammed into two semesters? Trying to think back to semester 1 i can't remember half the stuff that went on. One thing I won't forget is the craic we had in freshers week between house parties, singing on the streets of Plassey and getting to know most of the people on our road in that friendly, alcohol loosened way. Like young Moffat i took my hand to kayaking and went to LaHinch for a crazy weekend of pubs, crap food and kayaking around in hurricane like conditions. well worth all the effort of course, although  im sure Dan and Shane have plenty of stories from Wales (they went for a week of the same with the booze-fuelled kayaking elite of UL).
Another highlight of semester one was, without doubt the fledgling formation of our band  ( who really want to play A BIT MORE NEXT SEMESTER !!!!). Peter and meself played together in one of many of house 15's partys and a while later the band got going. Of course we only found our french drumming machine in semester two. And as most of you know im quite fond of the aul music and to get a band going was one of my main hopes when coming to UL. hmmm... i can't really think of what else went on in semester one so ill move on to semester two.
After the exams everyone decided they would do f**K all for semester two. Well nearly everyone anyway. So the party's got going again- any excuses were accepted for one really, though they tended to happen on wednesday nights, followed by a cheap trip to the market and not so cheap Burger King gourmet afterwards. Its all a bit hazy really, i remember the basketball intervarsities though. We cobbled together a team of not-so-experienced players and completely inexperienced players, which was nice. we did of course go on to win the Varsities (won't mention we only had to beat Sligo to win; ah ha ha- Moffat). The definate highlight of that weekend was Eoin Reidy's late night, Sligo wandering antics. Eoin walked out of Sligo town (a big place) & would probably never have been seen again if a nice taxi man didn't give him a lift back to our hostel -Crazy guy.
Oh yes there was of course rag week, which was legendary. Pimps and Prostitutues was probably the best night but we were, of course missing party boy no. two - Frankie Barrett cause he sprained his ankle plaing cowboys and indians with his hosemates, the big baby. He did, however, embrace the spirit of ragweek as he drank a nice, cool can of Hackenberg on the way to the hospital "for the pain". Dead right too. Oh, the gig in stables was class, thanks to all for coming! ye better be there next time! ive to go now,,,,,best of luck in d exams talk to ye all on d 27th ----D day for celebrations  ! ! ! !
