I provide telephone support for end users at Fleet branches as they perform a scripted W2K rollout process. I provide support for any network issues that may arise during the process. This includes helping users force their workstations on to the domain using Sysprep and other utilities. I also look at the status of the ports and increase the speeds where necessary. I’ve also assisted in removing DHCP from print servers.

I assisted in a 6 month project converting the agency’s workstations from a UNIX based NOS to Novell Netware 4.1. The work consisted of stripping off the existing NOS then installing and configuring the 32 bit Netware client software including setting up and configuring TCP/IP. After converting the workstation, I ensured that the existing software and hardware were set up correctly and, where necessary, updated software. I also showed user’s how to log into the new NOS.

Desktop Support Technician, New York State Office of the State Comptroller 03/81 - 01/96
I provided computer support for the end users in the agency, including hardware/software setup and troubleshooting and AS/400 operating system support. I trained end users in WordPerfect Office, Groupwise and AS/400 OfficeVision. I also assisted in administering the agency's Novell network and Groupwise E-mail system. I created systems, using Paradox 5.0, that tracked computer equipment purchasing and inventory and a project tracking system for the installation of the Novell 4.1 wide area network. I created the Bureau of Data Processing's newsletter and created and assisted in presentations given by the Division of Administration and the Bureau of Data Processing using Ventura, Corel and WP Presentation software.
