May 2004-HARLEY has learned how to open the living room door!
He Stands on hind legs and reaches for the handle,
pulls down, then pushes .
And he's in !
Here he is showing Finnigan how to do it!
WRINKLES--Tonight (dec.10/99) while having our evening meal, and talking about Christmas,etc.,
we were not paying any attention to Wrinkles ,who is a real begger, when there is something she likes ,of course there's not much she doesn't like.
As we weren't giving in to her demands of a handout, she went to her room, picked up
the only dish there that was empty and came out with it in her mouth.Now the dish
is like a crock dish only a heavy plastic. She went from me to "Dad" wanting something put in it. "Dad" took the bait and told her to bring the dish to the kitchen. She followed him , he told her to put it down on the floor and she dropped it. Of course as soon as he put some food in it, Midnight was there to share it. When it was empty she picked it up and tried the same trick again.
MIDNIGHT--When the dogs start barking outside, I go to call them in. Midnight watches to see if I look cross,when I think of it I give them a cross look, it doesn't bother the rest, but Midnight refuses to come in. I close the door and without letting on I watch her from the window, she comes, jumps up to look in, I guess she is seeing if it is safe or am I growling at Wrinkles.
When she sees me watching her she can tell that I am not cross and runs to the door.
CHICO--Her favorite thing is to bark at any dog walking by with or without their human! She will not come back when called and this is the only time she doesn't obey, instead she will turn and look at me as if to say "I just have to go!" When she gets to the dog she just "talks" to them and then comes home.
MISTY--When I am cleaning up in the kitchen and the dogs are underfoot, I tell Misty to keep them out of the room. All she has to do is give them the LOOK and they head back to the dining room, then she will sit by the doorway and they will not pass.
MUFFIN--She loves to be combed and when it's time or she has a knot starting , she will come to me and meow if I don't
move at once she will reach up with a paw to get my attention, if I'm sitting she gives me a little bite on my elbow, to get me going.
MINNIE--Minnie loves to sleep across my throat (not my idea of a comfortable sleep)if I tell her no, she will then start giving me kisses or "washing" my hair.I don't know which is worse but I put up with it as she says she is the boss!
SHEBA--Another cute thing was when I put batteries in our singing Christmas tree ,as soon as I turned
it on to see if it was working. Sheba, who was watching from her bed , put both paws up to her ears
I had to laugh as it looked like she was trying to block out the loud music, when she was really more then
likely just rubbing her ears.
JEREMIAH--Jeremiah could tell time!!
One evening last Fall we had some friends in
and Jeremiah was
taking advantage of it by going in and out. Around 7 o'clock,he came in and I was going to keep him in, but he would not settle down, kept meowing and going to the door. I gave in and told him he had one more hour and then it was bed time,as he was going out I said, "you make sure you are back at 8 sharp".
Well, at 8 o'clock he was at the window wanting in. One of our friends couldn't believe it. He said, That cat can tell time!!

Now that she is the only dog ,she is really spoiled,
is beside me most of the day
In the evening when I am watching a tv. she will go to the door wanting to go out.
I get up , go to door and she is on sofa in my spot in a flash.
She gets me every time!!
Another thing she likes is to get on my pillow at night
She does that same way, pretending to want out!!
She is taking over Chico's job of letting me know if the cats are fighting
The only thing is she doesn't know the difference between them playing or really fighting. She barks anyway!
FINNIGAN
It didn't take him long to learn how to open the door too.
He likes to be picked up and carried around .
When he wants "dad" to pick him up
he will put his paw in "dad's hand to get a hand up!
