While not officially formed until X Japan's breakup on the last day of 1997, Spread Beaver was hide's backup band since the beginning of his solo career. Pata always played with the band in concert, as well as some recording, but he was never officially made a member. Spread Beaver broke up at the end of the year after the Ja,Zoo tribal Tour ended.
