| A warning from the past: Many years ago there was a Nescafe advert on TV starring Men Behaving Badly star, Martin Clunes. He played a guy who lived nearby a rock band who insisted on playing really loud music at all hours. The problem laid within the first joke, which defying all copyright laws, I reproduce here. MARTIN CLUNES: Do you know what time it is? ROCK CHICK: Is it by the Stones? MARTIN CLUNES: WHAT? This is perhaps the worst joke known to man and it doesn't even come across clearly on the advert. Those advertising executives, eh? I was with Martin Clunes on that one. Whenever I saw the advert, I followed his example and just shouted 'WHAT?' at the screen. |
