Shawn and Mike have been best friends since 1987. They grew up in the same neighborhood on Bernice Drive & Phyllis Drive in West Seneca, New York since 1980. They played street hockey together and said very little to each other for many years. Each had their own interests, differing from each other in several ways. Shawn liked Rap music, Mike Liked Hard Rock. Shawn's favorite artist was Bono from U2. Mike's favorite was "Diamond" David Lee Roth from Van Halen. Shawn's ambition was to join the US Navy and travel the world. Mike's desire was to be a famous rock star. Shawn took art in school. Mike took music. Shawn enjoyed track & field. Mike enjoyed tennis. Shawn liked church. Mike liked business.
It wasn't long, though, before they would find a happy medium. FOOTBALL. Both joined the school JV football team in 1986 and began a lasting bond of brotherhood. As time past, Shawn and Mike enbraced each others families as their own. They shared each others ups and downs, good times and bad times, victories and defeats. One moment was in 1985, they both were cut from the Junior High basketball team. They knew they had some talent, but not enough. Their football career was for a few short years in high school, but, that wasn't the only activity that would bring them together.
In 1986, Shawn & Mike arrived in senior high, attending West Seneca West Sr. For the first couple of months the football season made some lasting memories for the duo. One of thier favorites was the infamous "Muddle-Huddle" (you had to be there). Afterwards their friendship, for a brief period, took a back seat to a life of uncommon activities and friends. During that time Shawn exprienced the night life at a local club called LaBoom. Mike was busy performing for the school plays. They met again in a school activity that had nothing to do with sports: Peer Counseling. This extra curricular activity would be the finishing touch of a firm brotherhood. Shawn & Mike began to fuse each other's lives to the other's to become a well rounded individuals. Shawn tried out for the school plays and learned that classical music has it's place in society. Mike joined the night life and learned that dance music was an unstoppable force in today's culture. So, how did this affect them later on in life?
Shawn moved to Florida and casted, directed and produced many church programs, became a radio personality, and now owns DIMedia.net (Photo/Video).
Mike is currently a top Disc Jockey in Buffalo, New York, VP of ERG Music distributing compilation CDs, and owns Signature Sound Design (DJ service). |
