TRANSCRIPTION/TRANSLATION INTO ENGLISH OF THE
INTERVIEW S:
Radio Speaker I:
Interviewer PGS:
Per Gessle “supposed to say” S:
We’re gonna listen to the seconf part of the interview with Per: Playing
“Crash Boom Bang” I:
We’re gonna talk about the CD “ballad hits”. Has it been very difficult make
the choice of the songs? 16 years of career, many songs, many ballads... here
there are just 15 and two of them new ones. PGS:
You’re right, 17 years, there has been there some “decisions”, but we have in
our “song index” 39 singles, that all have been hits, so we have a lot of
material. So it’s the decision to release a ballads album now and another one
rock in March. It’s just that we have so much material that we considered
it’s better to divide it like this. Anyway, the decision to choose the songs
for this album is just the greatest hits... Playing
“Anyone” (Santi’s note: no wonder... the greatest of them :DDDDD) I:
In ’97 “Baladas en Español” was released… do you speak a little Spanish? PGS:
Nothing, nothing, he doesn’t speak at all... I:
The only one that I imagine has learnt a little is Marie, isn’t it? PGS:
When I did the ballads, the Baladas en Español album, forgive me, I didn’t
know what I was actually singing. We even sang in Spanish sentence by
sentence, and there was always a translator saying “hey, let’s repeat that
one, it doesn’t sound too well.” It was laborious... I:
Why did you release a Ballad album in Spanish? As thanking Spanish speaking
public, for following step by step your career? PGS:
The idea came up touring South America. The responsible for Emi Latinamerican
said he thought Castilian (Santi’s note: Spanish language alternative name)
fitted Roxette’s sound perfectly. They did a couple of songs and it was
perfect, sounded very romantic. He’s very happy 12 songs were sung by Marie
and he just sang 1. Playing
“Fading like a flower” I:
To our country you’ve come many times, do you have any special memory, is
there anything magic in our country besides wine that I know you’re a good
collector?? PGS:
Yes, we come a lot, many times I mean. We come here when we’re not doing
promotion, we get away from Sweden. Well, we go to Barcelona to watch Formula
1, climate, food, people, night live, I’ve taken with me my son and he loves
Spain. He can say, everything’s fantastic.... They
play “Breathe”..... |
