English to Sluggh Dictionary
(and Phrase Book)
A - first letter of the Sluggh talhousen (alphabet)
A - Arv - indefinite article
AARDVARK
– AARDVARK
A
coincidence that this animal is called the same here on Sluggh as it is on Earth
- a
small ant-eater (grondixon) same as on earth only much smaller and much tastier.
AARDVARK DROPPINGS - CHIPSEN never ask for "chipsen egg" in a cafe or bistro on planet Sluggh.
AFTER - SPLATAR - behind, rear of, following (in time)
AGAIN - PLUNGER - a second time, once more
AGREE - KONKER - to be of one mind
ALCOHOL - BLOTOYL - intoxicating liquor
ALL - CAPSOL - the whole, everything entirely
ALPHABET - talhousen
AM - FIZZ
AN - ARVAN
AND - AL
ANKLE - STUMPINGE - the Sluggh word for foot is stump
ANTHEM - ANTIF
APPLANDPARES
– a comfortable seat (Earthling rhyming slang) sometimes shortened to apple
hence: "Pull up an apple and park your Aristotle."
APPLE - NIK
APRIL - ABALLA
ARE - FIZZA
ARFENDER
– a section of house brick - may be used when a Sluggard has received a
blow to his cranium such as, "Oh Dear,! he’s just received a bat on
the nut with an arfender."
ARIS – ARIS a slang word picked up from planet Earth shortened from aristotle the Sluggard's gluteus maximus, buttocks fag-end. A very over used word by the male population on the planet Sluggh e.g. "Look at the aristotle on that Roger."
A long and drawn out explanation is that the Earthlings have a peculiar race called "Cockneys" and they have a little language all of their own called "rhyming slang," hence bottle and glass rhyming slang for a**e reduces to bottle which rhymes with aristotle and then reduces further to aris.
ARISBANDIT – slang on Sluggh for a male Sluggard who likes other male Sluggards very much, even more than the females. Again the language of Sluggh is assimilating lots of slang words from the English Language and making them their own.
ARM - MANGLER Sluggard's powerful upper limb
AS - HAGE quite so
AT -IL
ATHLETE - GROSBILDA
AUGUST - AGBALLA Sluggard month of the year
AUNT - ANKLINKA
AWKWARD - BIND
