Chuckles's Notes April 28th-
First day of launch went well. Many posts and many great supports of the petition came out of the wood work. This news bit has a lot of news, so better use the rest room, get a drink, make a sandwich (Mmm... Gnome Sandwiches...), and feed your cats.
HEEEEELP! That's right. There are a lot of things this site needs first of all. We need screen shots, personal stories about your experiences in PoM, any logs of events there (theatre ;p ).
Just as important we need the word spread. I ask all folks to post this message on their server's board with a link to this site. Let them know there is a petition out there for the restoration of PoM. Tell them FREE CHUCKLES! LET HIM FREE! AHHHHH!
Plane Of Mischief Society Membership is something I wanted to speak about. To explain this better PoM's citizens have always felt like a guild... A tagless small club. In some way, I want to see if we can make it somewhat official. All those who sign the petition could take up the title as a Plane Of Mischief Society Member. That meaning you are Pro-PoM 1.0 intent.
Plane Of Mischief Society Motto is something I also wanted to discuss and we will run a poll on later. On the boards (which at this hour as I post are down) we will run a poll on a motto for the society. I ask you to keep it witty and clean. ;) And no degradation of halflings are to be done in it. Halflings are people to... At least half people.
March On SoE Days are a plan some of us have developed to peek interest and let SoE know how much we care. ;) On at least on day a month, a preplanned day, we will ask all those who serve our petition to /feedback, /petition, and e-mail (oh, and we will give the e-mails. ;p) on a mass day. On these days we can encourage SoE that there are huge fans in large numbers with loud voices.
I apologize the site is on Geocities by the way. Many people asked my why it is not a domain. No, this site is intended to become a domain, provided there is a beginning bit of support to let the site continue. If this all died tomarrow it would be a waste of money and bandwith.
And finally, I know this is a tough beginning... We are all in the process of calling all the lovers of PoM together... All those who adore the idea and concept of the zone. If we act, and we let ourselves be heard, we'd be doing justice to the place we loved. I call you all to have some hope in this. If you don't, you already let PoM die. ;(
Chuckles's Notes April 27th-
The beginning of the page dedicated to Plane Of Mischief 1.0 is now up. We are busy building a great deal of things right now. Why did Fizzlethorp make Halflings the same height as gnomes, but without the smarts? Takes forever for these damned fuzzy foots to get a thing done.

We players of EverQuest enjoy the fantasy would you have made for us to explore and adventure in. The countless memories of playing, the experiences, and the excitement all come to mind. By no means do we in the community think you are "the enemy". If anything we are your biggest fans.
Since the discovery of Plane Of Mischief by the good folks at the guild Triton, one of the most unique zones in the game was brought to the public. Somewhere where you would be wisked away from anything normal. In its wacky creatures, mazes, puzzles, and quests, many of us stayed bound for months there. The loot was alright in many aspects. The zone was never truly abandoned ever. It always was quiet, but that is partly because of location, which is now changed to a more easy location. Some of us in the community would want if back in Temple Of Veeshan, while others would have it lie in Great Divide. Either zone in is not the scope of this petition.
We experienced the revamp in October of 2003 with very mixed emotions. Instead of the quests being fixed and the unpopulated wing filled, the zone's purpose was completely shifted. It was turned into a PoP zone frankly. This new zone is refered to as PoM 2.0.
Although it is amusing to see Fennin Ro put to shame by the new Bristlebane. ;)
The community sees that SoE is listening and slowly finding the original purpose of the zone, such as in version 3.0. Short lived, and occasionally poping on server resets, it lacks the things 2.0 and 1.0 agree on, namely the prizes and most of the wacky creatures.
What can be done?
A very fine question. How can one make the player base happy with Plane Of Mischief? Perhaps that answer lies in what made/makes the zone so addicting and fun.
Zone Wide Shananegans were part of the zone's fun. One could wander around with very little or nothing KoS. One could journey about just for fun or even interact with wacky creatures. One thing coming to mind is the Threatre event every day and how the Cazic-Thule puppet gets stage fright! We understand that SoE is pushing once again for groups to be important again, but one should be able to freely travel aroudn the zone without much trouble.
Item wise there are great things such as card and class designed armor, and the resist flowers are a dream. A returning of the containers, crowns, thrones, squires, knights, and even jesters would be much appreciated. Many of the PoM 2.0 drops are nice. You could keep those shiny items by making a new container and some new drops. Maybe even have them drop from non-kos NPCs? One of the funnest things about this system of combines with cards and such was that one could trade with others and it sort of brought on a kiddie feel. It made a lot of folks use bargaining skills and work together in possibly the most unique economic system in EQ.
((Note: Some rumors persist that cards/thrones are once again dropping since 04/14. This message will be edited if there are any new developements))
The feel I find is the most important of it all. PoM has always been a mockery of many a thing. My favorite twin books, a popular pair of stories, Alice in Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass by Lewis Carrol came to my mind. Think of the puns involved. Cazic-Thule, Lord Of Fear, having stage fright? Fishing for cards.... GO FISH! Bunnies in the library... Reader Rabbit!
It means a lot to us. It means so much, we as a community wanted to inform you of our wishes. Which, to sum them up again in a few words...
-Return somewhat of a version 1.0.
-Keep the intent of the zone what it was, a puzzle solving, wandering, beautiful place.
-Additions to the zone are welcome. Quests could used fixed, more quests and puzzles could be made and put up. There is a whole wing without any design. Technically, expansion of the zone would be neat! Just keep it within the point of the zone.
-Bring back the dancing sphinx!
In closing, those who sign this petition agree with at least these terms above. Some opinions are stronger than others, but this at bare minimum is what we as a community desire PoM to be. We are sure that SoE will read diligently and always speak to folks in the community on ways to improve all aspects of EQ life, including that of Plane Of Mischief.
