Shania Twain was born as Eilleen Regina Edwards in Windsor, Ontario, Canada on August 28,1965. Her father, Clerence left when she was a toddler and her mother, Sharon married Jerry Twain who adopted Shania. She grew up in Timmins, Ontario, the second oldest of five children. She has two sisters, Jill & Carrie-Ann and two brothers Mark & Darryl. Times were tough and a lot of the time the Twain Family had very little money & food. Shania found comfort in music and writing songs and while her mother was often depressed she looked forward to hearing Shania's songs. Her parents would wake her and take her to local clubs where live bands would be playing and Shania would sing. Music was always in the Twain house and Shania grew up listening to Dolly Parton, Hank Williams & The Mamma's & The Pappa's. After high school she set off for Toronto where she fronted bands playing whatever style of music paid the bills. She also worked in her fathers reforestation business 6 months out of the year between the ages of 17-21. After the loss of her parents due to an accident on Nov.1, 1987, Shania took on the parenting role to her two brothers and younger sister. She moved the family to Huntsville where she would be closer to The Deerhurst Resort after a close family friend, Mary Baily, got her a singing job in a stage style show. Thanks to Mary Baily & Dick Frank, Shania got a recording contract and set off for Nashville. Her first album "Shania Twain"  only contained one of her own songs " God Ain't Gonna Getcha For That", although the album didn't get great reviews from music industry critics her videos were attracting a lot of attention. In 1993 Shania's second album The Woman In Me contained nothing but Shania's own material with help from her husband/producer Robert John "MUTT" Lange. The album became a huge success and her song "No One Needs To Know" made it on to the soundtrack of the Movie "Twister". In 1995 Shania's life Whirlwinds after the release of her next album that would propel her into an International Superstar. Come On Over took Shania from country music superstar to Superdiva status with her hit single "You're Still The One". Not only were country stations playing it but MTV was spinning Shania too. In 1998 Shania trekked out on her first ever World Tour which ran about 1 1/2 years long and extended over the U.S., Canada and several other Countries. At every concert she sings "God Bless The Child" with a local chior from that area to which all the proceeds from that song go to Americas Second Harvest and Breakfast For Learning to help feed hungry kids.

Mutt heard Shania's "What Made You Say That" and contacted her. Soon they were colaberating over the phone and on June 1993 they met face to face at Fan Fair.
They were married on December 28, 1993 in Huntsville, Ontario among friends and family.
