I'll warn you, you won't find any dark,
torturous, or
angst-ridden fics here. I tend towards romance and
I like reasonably happy endings. While I do read fics which
have serious moments, if you are looking for Dark fic
recommendations, you might want to skip mine. I will
assure you that all the fics I have recommended are extremely
well written. They are some of the best of the genre.
General warning: I read adult fics. Almost everything I
recommend will be rated R or NC-17. For your own
peace of mind, read each stories warnings before
you jump into it.
New recommendations 7/06:
A Hiding To Nothing by Meri
Severus Snape, among other Death Eaters, is forced into
indentured slavery by the Ministry. Guess who he ends up
being owned by? This fic starts out rather rough, but
ends up being worth it in the best of Hurt/Comfort
traditions. Rated NC-17 for sex and mild violence.
The Task at Hand by DementorDelta
Snape blackmails Harry into helping him make a
Parseltongue potion, and winds up getting much more
than he bargained for! It says it's rated PG-13, but I'd probably
call it an R. Big fun!
The Dreaming Spires by DementorDelta
After the war ends, it takes some time to put the pieces
back together again, especially when one of those
pieces thinks he was born a straight Muggle.
Delta calls this an R, but I'd call it NC-17.
Rite
of Passage by Rushlight
"When Harry comes of age in the wizarding world, he has
to find someone to aid him in the passage to adulthood."
Harry is only 16 in this fic, which I don't find
troublesome at all, but it might put some folks
off. NC-17. Lovely "first time" fic.

This fic was written for the Slash Advent Calendar 2005
Challenge,
"Two ex-lovers are trapped in a small place. One is ill
and still hurt by the break-up. How does the uninjured party react?"
A lovely and human tale. Not to be missed!

I'm not usually much for Vampire!Snape stories, but
if you are going to read one, this is the one to read!
Tira Nog's writing is lyrical and the smut is hot, as per usual.

Potions by Tara Tory
A really nice take on the whole Potions class
mishap idea. Well worth the reading.

A wonderful tale. A stubborn Snape. An equally
stubborn
Harry. An Albus who manipulates people from the very
grave! What more could you want? This is hosted on a very secure
site. You will have to register, then look the fic up
for yourself. I assure you that it's worth the trouble.

Severus visits
Number 12 Grimmauld Place and accidentally catches Harry

In my opinion, the best "Severus must marry Harry"
fic ever written.

leather-clad Snape. Absolutely delicious!

Humorous and so very, very hot!

Severus tries to become an Animagus and discovers an odd
new talent. Things become both intriguing and amusing when
Harry Potter finds odd objects lying about and
begins to carry them around.

especially if it's slathered over a surprised and very

to read!
The Perfect

This story never ceases to both amuse me and make me a bit...er...warm
each time I read it. A truly worthwhile read!
Both Sides Now by Predatrix
The form of this fic is both amusing and unique.
Simultaneously,
the reader gets to see what's going through both Harry and
Severus' head as events progress.
