How long have you liked Placebo?
I think, since the end of '96/ early '97.
Having been a fan for quite a long time now, what have been the highlights of Placebo's career for you?
This is quite a tough question for me. There are various different things i'd consider a 'highlight'. Certain songs, certain guest spots on tv shows ( like Brian's 3 appearances on Nevermind The Buzzcocks, definately high on that list ). Seeing the band time after time reaching high spots in the charts and gaining greater support with each album.
What song got you into Placebo?
Well i heard 'Teenage Angst' first, and absolutely loved it, but kinda forgot about them until 'Nancy Boy' came out at the start of the following year. I Fell completely head over heals for them.
What is your favourite Placebo song?
I've got so many, for many different reasons. Each time i think of one, another one pops into my head! [laughs] 'Burger Queen', perhaps.
What do you think of Meds?
I absolutely love it. At first i was a bit unsure when i heard of Dimitri Tikovoi signing on as their producer, i thought it'd turn into a complete Electro album (don't get me wrong i love my electro). But when it was finally released, it sounded nothing like i was expecting. I had pretty high expectations for the album in the first place, and it's surpassed each and every one of them.
What makes placebo unique?
They just have a very distinct sound. Through the actual music, Brian's voice and their lyrics. They're one of those bands, no matter if you're into them or not, if you heard a song on the radio, you'd know instantly it was Placebo.
What do you think the future holds for Placebo?
Great success, hopefully many gigs in Ireland. Ahem... [laughs]
If you were to describe Placebo to someone how would you describe them?
Utterly perfect.
