Throughout this site, you'll see references to status conditions and status ailments. These are effects of magic for the most part; some spells have a status change as the main effect, while others use them as side effects.

| Slow | Doubles the wait time between attacks | Dispel/Haste magic |
| Stop | Halts character/enemy actions. | Dispel magic, wait for it to wear off. |
| Paralysis | Commands cannot be entered until the condition is cured | Electrode, Remedy, Full Heal magic |
| Sleep | Commands cannot be entered until the condition wears off | Mint, wears off automatically, phys. attack |
| Unconscious | Commands cannot be entered until the condition is cured | Electrode, Remedy, Full Heal magic |
| Death | Character is battle inactive. If all characters die, the game is over | Life group spells, Phoenix feather/plume. |
| Petrify | Target is turned to stone. If all characters are petrified, the game is over | Chisel, Remedy, Full Heal magic |
| Frozen | Target is encased in ice. If all characters are frozen, the game is over | Fire-group attacks, wears off automatically |
| Burns | Damage = 5% of target's Max HP after every action, Defense halved | Gel Pack, Remedy, Full Heal magic |
| Slow Drain | Target's HP are steadily drained to the caster | Defeat caster, wears off automatically |
| Mana Leak | Target's MP steadily decrease | Wears off automatically or when MP = 0 |
| Slow Numb | Target will be put into [Petrify] status when timer hits zero | Remedy, Dispel magic |
| Brain Shock | Target is unable to concentrate; magic is sealed | Electrode, Remedy, Full Heal magic |
| Chaos | Target becomes confused (random commands and targets) | Physical attack, Remedy, Full Heal magic |
| Blind | Target's accuracy drops sharply | Eyedrops, Remedy, Full Heal magic |
| Micro | Target shrinks (Attack and Defense decrease sharply) | Dispel magic, Macro magic |
| Trap | Character is caught in enemy trap (cannot move, loses HP steadily) | Destroy trap (if possible) or caster |
| Radiation | Target becomes confused, loses 5% of Max HP and MP every turn. | Remedy, Full Heal magic |
| Fascination | Character goes to enemy side (random commands, no longer in party) | Dispel magic |
| Countdown | Target will be put in [Death] status when timer hits zero | Destroy caster, Auto-Revive magic |
| Sadness | Disables Desperation Attacks, lowers damage incurred by 50% | Dispel magic, Remedy, Electrode |
| Anger | Crisis Bar fills faster, accuracy drops | Dispel magic, Remedy, Tranquilizer |
| Berserk | Restricts target's actions to physical attacks (random enemies). Attack up. | Dispel magic, Tranquilizer |

| Auto-Revive | Target will come back to life with minimal HP when killed | Reduce target's HP to zero |
| Aura | Affected character/enemy becomes temporarily invincible. | Wears off over time. |
| Heat Shield | Protects against Burns and Radiation status ailments. | Dispel magic |
| Antibodies | Protects against Poison, Toxic, and Virus status. | Dispel magic |
| Strong-Minded | Prevents Chaos, Brain Shock, and Fascination status. | Dispel magic |
