A Few Mormon Contradictions

  1. What do Mormons believe?
  2. Mormonism against logic - in their teaching that all gods were once as we are... (all gods were once as we are now)
    1. A contingent being exists
    2. Since this being is by nature contingent, it owes its existence to some other being (or cause).
    3. This other being must of necessity be either a contingent being (or cause) or a necessary being (or cause).
    4. This other being must have been brought about either by an infinite series of finite beings (or causes) or by necessary being (or cause).
    5. It is not possible for an infinite series of finite beings (or causes) to bring about the existence of anything.

      Note: The above is a form of the Cosmological Argument for the existence of God, but it defeats Mormon teaching concerning that all gods were once contingent first (as we are), then became immortal. In teaching that all gods were once contingent first, they create an infinite series of finite beings, and as shown above, that is impossible to exist.
      The Mormons have taken away the "everlasting" property of God, and all their gods maintain the same characteristics.
  3. Mormons against Bible Teaching
    1. God is Spirit, not flesh and bones like us - John 4:24
    2. After death we have spiritual body, not body of flesh and bones - I Cor. 15:46 (Note: vs. 39-40)
      If God was once as we were (as Mormons teach), reaping a natural body, then he now sows a spiritual body (but they teach he has a body of flesh and bones).
    3. Adam was not God, Eve was not a Goddess
      Adam and Eve: Created - Gen. 2:7, 18-25;
      Not God - Gen 3:5 (they could become LIKE God, if they were gods, that would have been a rediculous thing for Satan to say)
      Approached by God - Gen. 3:9,10
    4. God cannot be tempted by evil (yet, Adam and Eve were, and fell, therefore their prophet contradicted Bible teaching)
      James 1:13
    5. God is from Everlasting to Everlasting:
      Psa. 90:2; Psa. 106:48; Gen. 21:33; Deut. 33:27; Isaiah 40:28; Isaiah 57:15; Rom. 16:26
    6. No marriage in Heaven (they teach that the gods will rule other planets with their many wives)
      Matth. 22:24-32
    7. Polygamy condemned in God's word
      One man for one woman for life: Matth. 19:3-9 - Christ speaking

      1. Where was Jesus born?

      2. How much darkness was there at the deaeth of Christ?

        Mormon). Alma 46:15 - hundreds of years before Acts 11:26
      4. Who can serve as Priests?

      5. When was the Church established?
        Answer). Matth. 16:18 - Christ was to build his church (future)

      6. When was Christ's name first announced?

        Mormon). Alma 19:29 - years before the angel told His name to Mary.
      7. Melchisedic did not receive the priesthood from his ancestors, nor did he pass it on

      8. Baptism being taught 550 years before Christ and performed in order for people to be "aded to his church"

      10. Word "adieu" (Jacob 7:27), purpotedly written by a Jew in Egyptian heiroglyphics in the 5th century B.C.
  4. Mormonism Against Itself
    1. The Book of Mormon teaches that God is "unchangeable from all eternity to all eternity." - Moroni 8:18
      God is eternal: 1 Nephi 13:40, 2 Nephi 9:8
    2. The Book of Mormon teaches that God is a God of Spirit (not flesh and bones) Alma 18:2-5, 24-28; Alma 22:9-11
    3. The Book of Mormon never teaches baptism for the dead is a necessary ordinance.
      Alma 34:30-35 - dead's fate sealed.
    4. The Book of Mormon teaches against a plurality of gods
      Alma 11:26-29
    5. Polygamy condemned in the Book of Mormon
