GALATIANS 5:1
(Gal 5:1 KJV) "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage."
- STAND FAST IN THE LIBERTY
- The word "therefore" indicates this is based on arguments in chapter 4.
- Liberty
- The Old Law could not save and therefore brought bondage to sin and Satan but the gospel is freedom from Satan (Gal. 2:16, Rom. 3:10, 23, Rom. 6:23, Rom. 6:17-18)
- Is it any wonder the gospel is called the "perfect law of liberty (Jam. 1:25)?
- BE NOT ENTANGLED AGAIN
- To be entangled is to be ensnared.
- A yoke is a coupling. We are not to let ourselves be trapped so that we are again coupled with sin.
Eph. 5:11
- THE BONDAGE
