Galatians 1:4

(Gal 1:4 KJV) "Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:"

I. Who gave himself for our sins

A. Rom 3:23; Hab. 1:13, Isa 59:2

B. Heb. 10:1-4; John 3:16; Rom. 5:6-10

II. . Deliver us from this present evil world

A. World means age.

Acts 2:40

III.. According to the will of God and our Father

A. God is the devine planner

Eph. 1:4, 1 Pet 1:20, Eph. 3:9

B. God has direct will and permissive will.

  1. Things that will be regardless of what I may do.
  1. Christ coming to earth.
  2. Christ’s crucifixion.
  3. Christ’s second coming.
  1. God wills that all should be saved 2 Pet. 3:9 but does not force all to be saved.
  1. Therefore it is God’s will but his permissive will. We must decide (Acts 2:40)

3. We must let God’s will rule in our lives (Rom. 6:16)
