A T-Shirt from Evander

Well it's been a few weeks since I last wrote a commentary on boxing. For today's commentary I will focus on something that happened to me about a month ago. I went to the mailbox and to my surprise there was a package for me. I hadn't odered anything in the mail for a while so I wondered what could it be. The return address was to Warrior Properties and it had the Evander Holyfield symbol in the corner. I thought, "this is strange... why is Evander Holyfield sending me something." Then I remebered my website and though, "oh no, maybe this is some legal thing about my website." I expected the worst, but when I opened it there was an official EvanderHolyfield.com T-Shirt. I wondered why was I getting a shirt from Evander Holyfield. I read the enclosed letter from the Director of Marketing from Holyfield Management, Tony Ragland. It congratulated me for winning the shirt. Then it hit me. I had entered a contest on Evander's website. This was great. I had never won any contest before and the first one I win was from my favorite boxer of all time. I really love Evander and Team Holyfield. I bragged to my family and wife that Evander Holyfield had sent me a shirt (even though I knew it was his marketing team and not the champ personally.) He was already my favorite boxer and I already had a website dedicated to him. I don't know how much more I can like someone, but I don't care what he does in the future. I will always stand up for him and no matter who comes along that I may like, no one will pass Evander on my scale of first class individuals.
I just thought I'd share that with all of you to show you that, Evander is not just a nice guy in front of the cameras, but he really does care about his fans. Little gestures, like T-Shirts mean a lot to people and I'm glad that Evander is not one of these big headed stars. He has my respect and admiration forever.
