Pitcher:
-Throws the ball to the batter. The pitcher must stay between homeplate and an assigned border behind the pitcher. While pitching, the pitcher must be lined up with homeplate and the Fire Hydrant. Once the ball is hit. The pitcher cannot move out of boundaries while the batter is trying to make trips. Once the Defense Man gets the ball to the pticher, the pitcher may tag or peg the batter (now a runner) to make an out.
Batter:
-Stands next to homeplate. When the ball is pitched, the batter may swing. The ball is to be hit BEHIND homeplate. The only thing that is foul is in front of the plate. Once the ball is hit, the batter needs to run around the pitcher counter-clockwise one complete time and then tag the Fire Hydrant. This is called a Trip. This is to be repeated until the batter is tagged or pegged by the ball by either the pitcher or the Offense Man. After two trips, one point is scored for the team, every trip after that is an extra point. The batter does not score an out unless tagged or pegged before completing two trips.
Offense Man:
-Stands to the side. Must be between the Pitcher and Batter. When the ball is hit, the Offense Man needs to chase the ball and get it back to the Pitcher. After the Pitcher has the ball, the Offense Man may tag or peg the runner. Once the ball is hit, the Offense Man has no boundaries.
Defense Man:
-Stands anywhere behind the batter. Returns the ball to the pitcher when the ball is not hit. Once the ball is hit, the Defense Man can slap the ball away only using hands. The ball can not be picked up or held. The defense man can block pegs of the Offense Man but no the Pitcher. Physical contact is illeagal. |
