As fellow Muslims, we sympathise with the families of those who lost their lives. We believe that the situation could have been handled in more humanitarian manner. However, PKMS views does not support any extreme views with regard to the incident. We understand the decisions that had to be made with regards to national security. However, we feel that the unnecessary loss of lives could have been avoided. PKMS would like to urge the Thai government to engage the Muslim community particularly in southern Thailand in constructive dialogues. The Thai government needs to understand their apprehension and aspirations in order to co-exist further as a Thai nation. From : Singapore Malay National Organisation (PKMS) |
