| 06th September 2002 The Editor , Political Desk PRESS RELEASE SMNO DISAGREE WITH UNITED STATES ATTACK ON IRAQ Singapore Malay National Organisation ( SMNO ) is concern and disagree with the current development on United States threat to attack Iraq where the United States claim that Iraq weapon of mass destruction as the main reason to push further on their agenda . The United States has to justify with their claim as even country such as Israel do have such a weaponry that could threaten the peace and stability of the Middle - East region . The attack on Iraq could affect humanity as a whole as the citizan of Iraq will suffer and the possibility loss of innocent lives are unavoidable . SMNO demand that the Singapore Government should look into all facets with sensitivities in mind and oppose any aggressive attempt towards any country in the world . The global peace and prospertiy in overcoming any security threats should be channel through diplomatic perspective and should improve th bilateral relationship and understanding between the Western and Islamic World . Mandate from the United Nation and the approval from the United Nation security council should be unanimously adopted for any attempt to attack on any country . With the above consideration , any decision and action will not create any suspicion and misinterpretation on the motive of any initiation taken .
