last night i got to do something new. i went to a show at yoshi's, a japanese restaurant/jazz house (yeah, only in the bay area) in oakland, at jack london square. martin, jooliagoolia, daniel, his friend sarah, and i went to see mccoy tyner, a legendary jazz pianist, who's probably best known for being a part of john coltrane's quartet back in the day. i'm not a jazz expert, by any means, but i like the music, and thought it would be a good show to get my feet wet. well, it was an awesome show...absolutely awesome. i don't think i'd do justice to tyner and the other musicians he played with last night by writing a review here. what i will say, however, is that if you have any interest in jazz or just plain old good music, go see a live show. it'll change the way you think about music...guaranteed!
short entry tonight! the phil kim world tour 2001 goes to the east coast tomorrow - i'm gonna be flying out to new york tomorrow night and spending the rest of the week hanging out with some friends and taking care of some business. if you really, REALLY wanna hear about how i'm doing, gimme a call on my hotline (my cell phone number - if you want it, be creative and hunt it down), or send me an email ([email protected]). ha ha.
anyhow, hope everyone has a great weekend/week. i'll let you know about mine when i get back.
two fingaz!
