merry christmas, y'all! hope you all had a great day, celebrating with your loved ones. i also hope you got a chance to recognize and thank the lord for the gift he gave to us all through the birth of his son - and our savior - jesus christ.
i've had a good time at home (all two days of it). i already mentioned church yesterday (you can read about it here). i didn't mention it yesterday, but while i was doing some last minute shopping with my sister at the beverly center, i got a chance to meet chali 2na, one of the mc's from jurassic 5, this hip hop group i like a lot. he was cool - he was really gracious and seemed genuinely appreciative (i told him i saw them in santa cruz and that i enjoyed the show thoroughly; i also asked when they would be going on tour again). if you're reading this 2na, sorry i bothered you while shopping, but thanks for giving me a minute. ha ha.
this morning, our family opened gifts. as usual, the kids (that's me and my two younger sisters) coordinated the gift exchange, while my pops took many, many pictures of the festivities. we had brunch together - a good time was had by all. i washed the cadillac. i washed the honda. made $0.50 for an hour and a half of work.
had a chance to do something new (for christmas, anyhow) - i had tickets to see the defending nba world champion los angeles lakers take on the portland trailblazers at the staples center. i met up with my homegirl lani and got to the game early enough to watch shaq-a-claus, kobe, and the rest of them shoot around. it was a close game, especially in the second half, but the lakers had a few calls go against them and the blazers took advantage. although the lakers lost, it was a good game; and again, a good time was had by all.
tomorrow - it's my sister's birthday! if geocities ever gets fixed, then make sure to send hera birthday shout out, preferably before she leaves for a mini mexico vacation.
i'm also driving up to northern california again for a few days. while i'm up there, i'll be attending the funeral for the mother of those three girls i mentioned in a previous entry. i know that it'll be a very difficult experience emotionally for the family and all of the people that knew and loved her. again, i'm asking you to please pray for the family - that as the mourning process takes its course, that god would pave the way for the healing process to follow close behind.
