To begin with, above is a pictue of myself taken the summer of 1998. At the time I was with my youth group down in Atlanta, Georgia for the National Youth Gathering of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Charisma is the experience at such a gathering. Around you are 30,000+ kids screaming, singing, praying, and praising God (the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). Once someone enjoys such an experience I would imagine that they would be spiritually uplifted. You could say that I was on a "spiritual high." At any rate, I hope the picture is not too frightening - I'm sure that my picture at the bottom of this page is not the best...
I told you I had an interesting job this summer. I will be working with the Good Shepherd Mission. A group of us will visit inner city churches, downtown Kansas City, and we'll teach Vacation Bible School (VBS). I believe that it will prove a fulfilling experince. I enjoy teaching and discussing religion. I know I have much to learn and understand. I also will have the opportunity to work with the music program during these VBS experiences. I love playing the guitar. I am in the pre-seminary program with a B.A. degree - a major in instrumental music (guitar). I not only know just chords, which I taught myself. I also have the ability to perform several classical pieces as well. This style of guitar is new to myself, yet very entertaining, enjoyable. I hope that through music I will successfully be able to testify my faith to others. One other note is that I even perform in the praise band at my church Peace Lutheran. We now have a third "blended" service, contemporary. I enjoy letting the words and their meaning fill me. I pray that music affects others as it does myself spiritually.
I hope that this web page has been somewhat entertaining. I leave May 8th for home, leave on A Cappella tour the tenth, for about 2 weeks to Florida, then I'll be home for the summer. I probably will not do any more work on my web page until next year. Hope you liked reading and seeing what I had to give. Later and God bless.
