| Mt. Stromboli & Sicily |
| Stromboli is the second most active volcano in Europe and it sits by itself, an island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea - truly magnificent to experience in person. The town of Stromboli lies at the base of the mountain is is shielded from most of the lava because the volcano crater wall is built up on that side. | The Captain of the Carnvial Liberty (our ship) took the boat by the volcano island the night we left Sicily. The sunset was stunning as everyone stood on the upper decks of the ship. We came around to the smoking side of the volcano just as the sun disappeared on the horizon, which brought out the color/light of the lava that spewed every few minutes. |

| Sicily is famous for its Cannoli, a tubular pastry filled with a sweet ricotta cheese. I thought the Cannoli in Boston was great, but this was AMAZING!!! Mmmm.... |
