Originially, Paul wanted to surprise me with the location of our honeymoon, but as he tried to decide on the location we started discussing different places to go. He knew I wanted to go somewhere warm with a beach, so we decided on Jamaica! He took care of all of the reservations... and even stunned me with two amazing surprises! I thought we would leave the reception and drive to Boston to catch an early morning flight to Jamaica the next day! Having a night wedding & reception left us little travel time. Upon leaving the reception, however, instead of driving to Boston, he drove us to the Trapp Family Lodge. The Von Trapp family (of The Sound of Music fame) escaped Nazi Austria and settled in Vermont. They have an amazing resort nestled in the Green Mtns of Vermont in a touristy area. He asked my Mom if there was a place I'd enjoy staying and she told him this was the only place she could think of! So, he surprised me and drove 20 minutes to this resort/lodge! |

The second surprise awaited me the next morning... when we got up he told me we would be going to a New England Patriots football game and then would spend the night in Boston and fly to Jamaica the next morning! It rained the entire game and was SO cold, but I didn't care. I couldn't believe how memorable Paul had made our honeymoon already and we hadn't even gotten to Jamaica yet! |

We took an ATV excursion in the hills overlooking the Bay and learned a bit about the history and folklore. It was a fun ride, but a dusty one as you can see from my dirt-caked face! I had no idea that I looked like that until we were done and took off our helmets... I looked over at Paul and he was cracking up! He told me to go look in a mirror. We got a good chuckle - I was literally "eating his dust" the whole time! |

We took another excursion to Negril where we went cliff jumping at sunset! It was a gorgeous evening. I think everyone was surprised when I actually wanted to jump. The guide warned us to keep our feet together when jumping. Another couple on their honeymoon from New York took pictures on their camera from down below for us and another guy took pictures up top on our camera. The water was crystal clear and the sunset was spectacular! A group of local Jamaicans formed on a cliff cross the water as they watched the tourists jump into the water. |
