Additional Collector Recruitment Rules, 1989

In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Maharashtra is hereby pleased to make the following rules regulating recruitment to the post of Additional Collector or post equivalent thereto (Class I) under the Revenue and Forest Department of the Government of Maharashtra, namely:-

  1. (1) These rules may be called the Additional Collector Recruitment Rules, 1989.

  1. They shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from the 12th day of August, 1985.

  1. Appointment to the post of Additional Collector or post equivalent thereto shall be made by promotion of a suitable person on the basis of selection from amongst the persons holding the posts of Selection Grade Deputy Collector in the cadre of Deputy Collectors.
  2. A person appointed to the post shall be required to pass the examination in Hindi and Marathi according to the rules made in that behalf, unless he has already passed or has been exempted from passing those examinations.
  3. A person appointed to the post shall be liable for transfer anywhere in the state of Maharashtra.
