22 September 2009 Congratulations should be extended to Drayton 'A' who have, for the third time in four years, won the Norfolk League Spirit of Cricket Award. The League have decided to rename the award after our late President Tony Gregory - and so fittingly, Drayton will be the first recipient of the Tony Gregory Spirit of Cricket Award. The League Awards Dinner will be held on Friday 16th October at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel (formerly the Hotel Norwich) - start time is 6.45 for 7.30 and cost is 20 a head. Anybody wishing to attend to see the presentation of the award - please contact James Kay by this Friday (25th September).

2009 averages have been sent out by e-mail. I will try and update the website this weekend - but as many of you know Geocities are closing this website, so I am presently exploring future options. In the meantime, it may well be that the Play Cricket site (see link below) is used as a temporary main web page. I will keep you posted of developments. In the meantime, if anyone wants a copy of the averages by e-mail, please contact me: [email protected]. Thanks Philip.

The Play Cricket site, now contains scorecards of ALL Drayton games for which I have scorecards dating back to 1953 in the "Results" section (enter a date or date span or alternatively on the right hand side of the home screen click on the name under "Most Runs In All Seasons" to access a list of all players to have played for the club - from here you will be able to navigate through individual players statistics as well as scorecards. If anyone would like any pointers please let me know and I will try to assist. I believe there are somewhere in the region of 2300 games included (if anyone would like to count them all please let me know!!!). Please take a look and remind yourself of past glories as you wish!

Drayton Cricket Club also has a Facebook "group". For those of you who are on Facebook who haven't joined the group, please feel free to, and that also extends to any non Drayton players/supporters who wish to join!

Drayton 'A' received their runners up trophies at the Norfolk Cricket League Presentation Evening last night, and they also retained the "Spirit of Cricket" Award for their entire Norfolk League. Below are the pictures of the happy team!
