A Child's First Sewing Project
"Make a Pincushion"
#1.  Choose 2 squares........ 4 inches by 4 inches
Right Side of Fabric
Wrong Side of Fabric
#2.  Place one square on top of the other, right sides together and pin  the edges carefully together.
#3.  Sew all around the square keeping  the edges together.  Make tiny little running titches, 1/4 inch from the edges (1/4 inch seam)
#4.  Leave an opening between the beginning stitch and the last stitch of 1 inch on one side.
#5.  Turn inside out through the opening so that the right side of the fabric is on the outside.
#6.  Stuff the little pillow tightly with fiberfill, cotton or small scraps of fabric.
#7.  Sew up opening with matching thread, using a whip stitch or a blind stitch.
#8.  Congratulations!!  Your first sewing tool, a pretty pincusion, is completed.!!
