Summary: Just going to take the course of events in a different direction after the episode Cinderella Story. Author's Note: Ok, now I am going to pick up where I left off. ::crossing fingers:: Gonna try to finish this up. This is basically one of those fluff type pieces that I just wanted to have a little fun with. So here ya go. Hope you guys enjoy it! =)
Pacey stood outside Joeys house staring at her front door. Things were still very unclear between them. And he had felt awful for being so vague to Dawson this afternoon. It was time to clear the air and get everything out in the open.
Its all gonna be ok, Pacey. All you have to do is just follow your heart.
Pacey jumped at the sound of the squeaky voice.
What the he... Pacey began.
Tsk, tsk, you shouldnt be using words like that.
Where? What?
Right here, the voice said.
Pacey looked to his left.
No, over here.
Pacey looked over to his right, and saw...Joey? Yes, it was a miniature Joey...floating right beside his head. It was like something out of one of those cartoons he watched as a kid. Ah, who was he fooling? He actually just saw this episode of Tom and Jerry the other morning on the Cartoon Network. Miniature Joey was dressed in all white with a tiny golden halo floating above her head. And she was talking in an extremely annoying, high pitched, and chipper voice.
Ok, correct me, if I am wrong, but am I not supposed to be hearing the voices of my OWN conscience. You look exactly like...
Well, your conscience has been sleeping on the job for quite a while now, so that is where we come in. We sort of work through Joey to get to you. But we figured that we would make an exception this time seeing as how Joey isnt here, and you are in serious need of some guidance.
Wait a minute. Who is we? Pacey asked.
Hey, over here, Pace, said a more Joey sounding voice from his other side.
Pacey turned around to see another tiny version of Joey dressed in black leather pants and a red halter top propped on his left shoulder. She took out a cigarette and lit it. If you ask me, Pacey, you are totally wasting your time. I mean, you are a classic screw up. Not that Joey is your everyday princess. But I figure she can do better.
Oh, shut up! good-angel Joey exclaimed, then turned her attention back to Pacey with a smile. You love her, Pacey. And she loves you. This much I know.
Oh, yeah, bad-angel Joey spoke up. She loves you alright. Shed love to see you escape town...never to return.
Pacey looked back and forth between the two. Shes really getting to you Pace, he told himself. Now you are hallucinating.
Listen, I do not need any guidance. I know what I am doing! he exclaimed.
Pacey? Are you talking to yourself? Joey asked, coming out the door.
Oopsy, heres your chance. Remember what I said. And good luck, good-angel Joey said planting a kiss on his cheek.
Oh, yeah, bad-angel Joey added, rolling her eyes. Good luck, she said sarcastically before they both disappeared.
Joey walked over to Pacey, who was still staring off into space in disbelief. Pacey?
Hmm? Oh, no, I wasnt talking to myself. I um...well...nevermind. What do you say we head inside Potter?
Joey just shrugged, and turned toward the house. She sniffed. Has Pacey been smoking? she wondered. She sniffed again. Nah, must have been something in the air.
She led him into the living room. Can I get you something to drink?
No, actually. Um...Joey?
Yeah?
Well, you know the other day, we never really established what is going on here...between us, he began.
Joey sat down on the ottoman and looked down at the floor. No, we didnt did we?
No, and um...
Listen, Pacey, it really doesnt have to be a big deal, ya know? I mean, I know that you werent really thinking the other day. And I wasnt either. And whatever there was or wasnt between us may have very well passed.
No, Joey. You are not going to dismiss this again. We did establish one thing yesterday. You said you wanted me. Not Dawson. Not the boy down the street or across the creek. You said you wanted me.
I dont know what I want anymore, Pacey. I mean this could all be wrong.
Pacey stooped down in front of Joey. It isnt wrong, Joey. Because I feel it too, he whispered.
All you have to do is just follow your heart, the angels words came back to him.
Pacey leaned two inches closer and pressed his lips to Joeys. I love you, Joey. And I have been loving you for a long time now. You turn me every which way but loose, but I wouldnt have it any other way. he whispered to her with a smile.
The angels hovered above their heads. Good-angel Joey stuck her tongue out at bad-angel Joey, giggled then disappeared. Bad-angel Joey just shrugged then disappeared as well.
Joey broke out into a big smile. Realization dawned on her and she knew too. I love you, Pacey, she told him, with tears forming in her eyes. Then she leaned in to kiss him again.
