NH-VT Covered Bridges |
One of the greatest joys of taking a scenic ride in the country is finding a covered bridge along the way. No matter how many I have seen I am always delighted to find and photograph a new one. Fortunately in New Hampshire and Vermont the opportunity happens frequently! |

The longest covered bridge in use in the USA is the Cornish-Windsor Bridge. This 2 lane bridge still has a sign to walk your horses or pay a $2.00 fine. |

The Corbin Bridge in Newport, NH was rebuilt in 1994 after arsonist burnt the original bridge. Oxen were used to pull the bridge across the river as it was with the original bridge. |

The Queechee Bridge in Vermont is a beautiful setting with the bridge and dam. Summertime you are apt to see daring teens swinging from a rope hanging under the bridge jumping in the water to keep cool. Early summer it is also the setting for a hot air ballon festival. |

The Thompson Bridge in Swanzey, NH was originally built in 1832 and reconstruced in 1993. This is one of my favorite bridges. |
