Willard Bridge |
Driving up Interstate 91 through Vermont just before the junction of Interstate 89 if one looks off to the right you will see a cover bridge. I remember the first time I ever found this particular bridge pictured on a postcard I decided I want to find this bridge and see it close up. That was many years ago and many cars have been over the Willard Bridge since then. |

To my surprise and delight the last time I drove by the bridge I noticed a new bridge is being constructed just a short ways away from the current bridge. |

One of the first things to attract me to this bridge is the magnificent waterfalls. Unfortunately, this pictures shows little water, but none the less it is still a lovely setting. |

Vermont's covered bridges are among the state's most cherished and symbolic historic resources. Willard Bridge is one of the most carefully maintained covered bridges in Vermont. Careful maintenance, the location of the structure on a lightly traveled road and its protection from washouts by a flood control dam will assure the survival of this bridge for long, long time. |

Construction , although no one was working on the weekend looked like it was progressing quiet well. This will be a spectacular event to see the bridge moved into place. |
