Dear friends,

my name is Petr ihk and I have been working as a guide for the Jewish Museum in Prague for 5 years now. Having studied the economy and agriculture and actually working in Internet sphere as a kind of marketing manager, I take this guiding job most of all like a hobby and an outstanding opportunity to meet new people and to help them with discovering of a history of Jews in the territory of Czech Republic. It was five years ago, when I passed the Jewish museum examination and officially became a licenced guide for the Jewish museum in Prague, Old-new synagogue and other Jewish monuments in Prague.
I was theoretically ready but without having other knowledges than those I have learnt from text books. So the first tours I gave in the Jewish museum were definitely far from being ideal. But...the more tours and the more people I had, the more knowledges I have received. From every single visitor who I met, I learnt something. I dont say that I dont study books and simply dont keep myself in touch with current information on Jewish history in the Czech state, but no textbook or no scientific article can substitute peoples experiences.
Simply I am very glad that I can meet you and you help me to expand my life perspective and to enlarge my general overview of the Jewish life, culture and history. I appreciate every little fact you tell me, so next time I can make the tour more flourished may be right of this little notice that you have told me. I want my/our tours to be like discussions, I will try to describe, explain and show everything I am able to, but for sure I am not supposed to be a teacher, I definitely welcome any kind of comments, questions or subjects that may be related to the subject of my excursions, in general - the life of Jews in the Czech state/Central Europe from 9th century until now. Once again, this is my only part-time job, I am not allways available to provide the tours but if I have a day/days off, it is my pleasure to meet you and to tell and show you all what I know on the Jewish culture in the Czech republic.
I must add that I usually provide the tours for max. 3 persons as this is a space limit of my car. But once again, everything is possible, so on an individual demand I can book the vehicle for 10 or 20 persons, more would be a problem.
Finally, it should be said that I did this website myself and I shouldnt pretend that I am a html/php skilled programmer, actually am quite amateurish doing this, so pray for your patience if you find here any bugs or useless things in programming. Anyway, I tried to make this website the most brief but same time the most comfortable for you, clients. I was able to, you can look over the tours I offer, see the photographs of my previous tours that are continuously added, send me your comments and choose online order form. I will be pleased, if you decide for one of excursions that I offer and really look forward to your arrival to the Czech republic.
Thanks and let me know with any question,
PC
