Aunt Mary Jo's Fudge Brownies! by Patricia Kennedy |
|
|
|
My Variation
The above style was my favorite, but I also liked a brown sugar version of an icing baked on the brownies. Again, use a brownie mix.
Take about 3/4 cup brown sugar, chopped nuts (unless they are in the mix) and about 3 Tablespoons melted butter. Spread it on the brownies BEFORE you cook them.
It is very good. |

Mary gave this to me many years ago, and it is the brownie recipe I always used. I loved the fudge frosting. It is like old fashioned fudge candy.
Take one box of brownie mix. Follow directions. The secret here is the fudge frosting.
INGREDIENTS AND DIRECTIONS
1 cup granulated sugar 1/4 cup cocoa 1/4 cup milk 1/4 cup butter
Boil one minute and spread on cooled baked brownies. If you are making a 13 x 9 pan of brownies, you may want to double the recipe. It depends on how thick you like the frosting. |
