In October 2002, just days before Tilor passed away the kids and I attended a grand opening of an apartment complex just off of US Hwy 6 by Port Crossing Apartments in Portage Indiana called Lake Pointe Apartments. While we were there an older gentleman had taken a few pictures of the kids and I. He also had taken my name and address and had said that once the pictures were developed, he would mail me copies of the pictures.
Since that time I had not heard from the man. In June 2006 my husband started working at those same apartments as a supervisor of maintenance. The manager of the property and I had been talking about Tilor and she knew of the man I was referring to. However she did not know his name. But, she did give me a few places to try where he may be known. So I started out in search of him yet again. I left my name and number with a few people who knew of him but did not know his name either.
To my surprise, the next day I recieved a phone call from the city's commissioner with the man's name and phone number. Trembling all over and tear filled eyes I thanked him and we hung up. I dialed the phone of the number he had given me, the other line rang and rang and went to an answering machine, so I left a message. Within minutes he called back!! My earth angel and I laughed and cried on the phone to one another for over an hour. To my surprise he had been looking for me as well. He had read Tilor's obituary in the paper and has thought of us ever since and told me that he was never going to give up looking for me to give me the pictures. We have planned to meet on October 20, 2006 (Tilor's 4th Angel Day) so he can give me copies of the pictures, and afterwards we will release balloons for Tilor and to celebrate our finding of each other.
