Hello friends and visitors! My name is Prabh Jot Singh, but I have always gone by PJ-much shorter and easier to say isn't it? ;-)
I am a Sikh (check out information on that religion at your own time, I will leave some useful sites on my home page when I get to that) and I try to practice my religion as best as I can, or at least I try to. I went to High School in Ghana, West Africa... GIS (Ghana International School) and it was a fun and great time for those of us that went to that school. I am sure that the one thing that I really learned from GIS, and those of you who know, is "Understanding of Each Other!". Jokes, jokes, jokes.
I just graduated from the University in May 2005 with a degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Marketing and Management. I was awarded the Senior Watch Award... pretty much just means, Senior of the Year award (most prestigious in the School) and all the hype that goes with it, but I have stashed it away in a drawer because of personal reasons I will not discuss. They bring back some negative memories, and I love to be a happy person.
You all must be wondering what sort of person I am. Well, I am the sort of guy that loves to be around friends having a laugh! I enjoy a good discussion about anything. If its about soccer, thats even better! If not, its ok! I still try to sound very intelligent (that's the reason I wear the glasses, its not because I can't see 100%). I enjoy watching comedies and action movies. An interest I have acquired recently is one for adventure and sci-fi or mythological stories. Some of these are stories such as "Lord of the Rings," "The Chronicles of Narnia," "Harry Potter" and so on.
I almost always strive for success! My one problem is that I am a procrastinator. As hard as it might be for some people to believe, I work best that way. At work (the professional world or "real world"), I try to get everything done straight away. Thats because in the "real world" you could get the boot for not getting work in on time and be seen working on what you are supposed to do!
I enjoy working at anything from which I can learn something. I hated working with or on computers when I was younger. When I was in college, I had to learn that so that I could pay some bills and make a little money. Now I am a manger for a growing business in Maine (Whitney Wreath and Toolshed), and my primary task(s) is to handle anything that has to do with computers. Funny how that works eh?
I am very family oriented, family and my very closest of friends are very important to me. All decisions made, I try to at least get the parents and my wife to agree with me upon. It is because of this closeness that I have with people and family that I leave an impression on those people that I want to be friends with. There have been times when I have not gotten on the "right foot" with people... its simple... they are just stuck up and too narrow minded. Life is too short to have "beef"... make firends and be happy, broaden your horizons and be well. Like they say in Ghana..."connehs!" are always good... with connehs, you can get a job or go to places without having to lodge in hotels! (If you aren't too bright to get it by now, conneh means connection!)
I am still young and with my will to survive and strive for success, who knows where I will be in a couple years. I am married and know that kids will be part of my life, but just not yet... when I will have them, you will all know. Its a part of my life that I will share with everyone!
I moved to the United States after graduating in June 2000... I worked for my dad and then made a move and came here to further my knowledge. Of the many colleges and Universities I had applied to, I chose "The University of Maine at Machias." I have a few reasons for that, but one of them, which was quite a deciding factor, I will discuss on my page that is about my love for football (soccer).
Many people always say that my brother looks a lot like me, some people even have the audacity to call us twins!!! No! As much as we love each other and fight with each other, we are not close looking! He is shorter and has a darker complection to mine and is still single. (The picture on the right is about 4 years old... just a little hint!)He has also always been a hit with ladies, me on the other hand... let's not talk about it! Brother's heart bleeds... "and they say he's just a friend, and they say he's just a friend! Oh baby please!!!!" My brother is very solo in his ventures but I have realised that when it is something that is important, he gets in and lets us know. Very intelligent guy... now a Marketing Manager rolling in dough... but he wants to be a Lawyer. With the brain and ambition he has, i don't see why he can't be one.
