To Know Life Is Desireable

To know that I want back in some way
What is missing from my life
Proves that in some form
This life has been desireable
Despite all the fears pains and paranoias
Despite the arguments and tramatic loss
I tell myself it is not so bad
Hoping this hope is not merely ignorant
Of the true facts of life
This reality
That warms provides safety
And is pleasing
Yet kills hurts oppresses and degrades
Is this the terrible truth
As we grow closer to death
With life as a privalege
Unasked for
In this world I wish for true friendship
People who do now wish to win or compete
For life's rewards
In honesty
But love as they can
But this utopia will not exist
As long as envy and darkness
Is in the hearts of men
