Assume Nothing

I tried to assume nothing
And found I'd have to give myself to help
What pleasure do you desire
What salvation
Temptation pollutes and eases
Innocence is lost in time
But must I sacrifice myself
And will it be a worthy cause
The struggle continues
And I try not to go errant
For every good there is an evil
Faith must be kept to live
In what
In something
Wandering free you may become lost
For every good an evil meets it
I just try not to lose my soul
If there is such a thing
Sometimes I hide and sometimes I run
Still inspired
Who will I come to trust
And will I lose them because of my own stupidity
When I know what I desire and it is real
Only then may I find it
To know loneliness has a function is the only
Salvation from it
And the same may be true for hate
And I know they will never die
As long as we exist
The comfort may be
That it is all really not as bad as it seems.
