watched the korea match last night. i think everyone would agree that they
had their chances to win against the US. final score probably should have
been 2-1 or even 3-1. but nope, it ended in a tie, meaning we have to at
least tie with portugal to have a chance of moving on to the next round.
that wont be easy, because despite portugal's poor showing against the US,
they are a talented team. which showed in their demolishing of poland this
morning. 4-0. ouch. i guess korea has a lot of preparing to do. but we
shall see. personally, i think korea kinda has an inferiority complex when
it comes to the US, and that's why they came out tight, and didnt
capitalize on all their opportunities. i could be totally wrong, but
that's my opinion. of course, that wasnt the ONLY factor in their loss,
but i feel that it played a part. one thing i know for sure, they were
still bitter about the winter olympics. heh.
so last night i cheered for korea. it wasnt really a patriotic decision,
though. honestly, i didnt know who to root for, because i wanted both to
win. lame, i know, but that's how i felt. but looking at their respective
situations, cheering for korea felt like the optimal thing to do, because
everyone would benefit that way. in their respective third games,
coming up later this week, korea has to play portugal, whereas the
US has to play lowly Poland. korea's gonna have a more difficult time than
the US, as i mentioned before, so it's gonna be tougher for them to even
tie. i hope they come out confident. and not miss point blank goal
attempts. but at least the korea/US game is over now, so i can freely
cheer for both teams. im such a lame fan. haha.
