it sucks to be a fan of bad sports teams. in my case, im talking about the
cleveland cavs and the golden state warriors, two of the sorriest
franchises in the NBA. it sucks to be a fan of these teams, because they
sap my enjoyment of the sport. i dont care to follow the sport,
because i know if i check the scoreboard, those two teams will have
yet another losing point total next to their names. that doesnt make
me feel good. so i rarely follow the nba. i dont know who's in first
place, i dont know any of the teams' records, nothing. because i
know my teams are bottom feeders. plus, their games are rarely
televised. well, the warriors are, but that's cuz theyre local. but the
cavs would never be on a satuday afternoon game on nbc. they suck too
bad. and a lot of it is owed to their management. stupid pick after
stupid pick. dumb trade after dumb trade. todd fuller, adonal foyle,
trajan langdon, desagana diop. what the heck! you would think that these
guys who get PAID to sniff out talent would be able to do so.
unfortunately they havent. and the fan has to pay. but this doesnt
mean i hope they lose. no. i want them to win, every game out.
but the teams' suckiness doesnt mean i will stop being a fan. those are
my teams. i grew up with them, and i will continue to support, follow,
and defend them. it's very difficult to do at times, but i think that's
what being a fan of a team is all about. it has to hurt when they lose,
but no matter what they do, you gotta support them. i think it means
that if a player leaves your team, even your favorite, and goes to an
archrival, you hate on him and give him no love. a team is bigger than
any one player. for instance, if kobe bryant left the lakers and came to
the warriors, he would be my man. i will cheer everytime he gets the ball
and hope he scores 50 pts a night. but as for now, he's a laker. so i
will boo every jumpshot, despise every arrogant smirk, and hope he
gets outscored by antawn jamison and beat in double overtime by the
warriors. then the cavs. and i will feel this way until he's on my team.
the same goes for jason giambi. he was my boy until he signed with the
cursed yankees, that traitor. he's getting no love anymore. and no one
who calls himself an a's fan better give him any love either. he sold us
down the river for cash. the big man on one of the most talented teams
around. and he left us for paper. of all things. makes me mad.
