kaplan was a minor success this week. i wasnt as rushed as last time, although i was pressed for time again. there were fewer kids in class as well, about 10 less than last time. that was nice, cuz it's more manageable, but i feel bad for the ones who arent coming. i guess i cant do anything about that. im becoming familiar with the kids' names as well, which is definitely helping me out, because i can call on them by name, and maintain at least a little control in class. i feel that the whole situation is improving...we'll see how next week goes.

barry bonds. 72 home runs. that's a whole lot. the other day, i was thinking that pitchers should just go after him rather than just walk him, but obviously i was wrong in thinking so. sheesh, it's ridiculous how locked in the guy can be. i cant believe he hit 2 yesterday...but then again, chan ho is prone to giving up home runs. oh well. too bad the giants didnt make it to the playoffs. that woulda been cool to have both the a's and giants in the playoffs. but im pretty psyched anyway about this year's american league playoffs. i hope the a's sweep the yankees. three straight complete game shutouts by mulder, hudson, and zito. that would be wonderful. also, i hope the indians beat the mariners, though i think that is highly unlikely. their starting pitching is so suspect. but maybe they'll win a game or two. maybe. hopefully. im sure their pitching will implode, though...just like 2 years ago against the red sox. if it came down to an indians-a's matchup, im not sure who i would cheer for. it would be very difficult for me to cheer against the indians, who i have liked for a long time...but the a's are just so darn exciting--lots of young talent that is mature and just GOOD. i dont know. unfortunately, i wont be able to see much of it on tv cuz these next few weeks will be quite busy in school. arg.
