My little brother is a stud. Last saturday, he went to homecoming. No big deal, right? Well, he went to homecoming at a different school than his own, meaning the girl asked him. Also, she was a senior, a year older than him. He's a junior. He's a stud. heh. my parents told me all this last weekend when we had dinner. apparently the girl is a cellist in the orchestra he's the concertmaster of. i guess being the concertmaster is kinda like being a celebrity, a rock star. ok. it's not. im just saying that because im happy for my brother. he has good genes from our parents.

and so we lose another one. Cal loses another big game, the 7th in a row. man! it was close, though, 35-28. but listening to the game, we did make some dumb mistakes at the end that didnt necessarily cost us the game, but more chances at winning...like the stupid roughing the kicker penalty. what the heck was that? that cost us about 1:30 or so. oh well...it's not like i expected us to win; at least it was close this time. i expected a blowout, but it wasnt fortunately. well, we have one last chance to win next week against rutgers. that should be a competitive game, a close game, a winable game. it's not like we have to play florida state or something. but a winless season would definitely be embarrassing.
but through all of this, i think tom holmoe, our head coach, has been pretty respectful. despite the team losing and his name being burned in our school paper EVERY week, he still tried to maintain an air of respect. and the fact that he did not sign a contract extention a season ago (2 seasons ago?) without bringing success shows responsibility on his part. that, at least can be respected. unfortunately the end result is the same. we still suck. well, there's always next week, and next year to look forward to.
