going to the store with you
I thought I needed a vacation
maybe lock eyes with a cow
or find some hallowed canyon
to get lost in
sing psalms to my shadow
til the echoes cease
or go where the morning doesnt break
but enters softly in a bloom
like dew on a rabbits nose
before the poachers come
or watch them fine maidens
strut their mahogany asses around the track
and those ladies with their pretty white hats
fanning themselves in broad green daylight
or go down to the coast and suck the cuds of the sea
stick my pecker in the sand
and fuck the hourglass
oh
but that was before I met you baby
before I heard your voice
reading the ingredients
in the supermarket
turning the labels inside out
making
this cheap fountain apartment
sound like the ocean
this musty yellow dome
an all night sun
your eyes across your left shoulder
your fresh wet eyelids
the blue rolling through drunk yellow waves
the arc of your trickle down back
like dolphins
saying grace
at minds sunset
