Talking Within the Dream

Incoherence
was nothing but a horsefly
neighing like monotone sitcom
music
purred in a melodic
buzzing just between
my right ear and the porch screen
opened
to screaming kids on the sidewalks
of summer,
their shirt and tie

daddys and husbands shuffling in from work

asking momma what's for dinner?.
