We will grasp at anything
to get going
cabbageworms are good
or blackbirds or how in October
the old house creaks in the wind or weddings
drunks devils with a blue dress on
and who could do
without god even cave
men had to have their god because
just you look
it's not every wall that has animals and spears
scrawled on its drippy surface
every now and then you come across
the glowing moon and stars
and at Lascaux in a shaft at the back like it was the last thing
somebody ever did
a stick figure stretched out dead or dying
its black penis rising
