The detour to marble

First off let's say Mike didn't stay late
and didn't hear the on and on of me
saying it should be longer than inscrutable
and shorter than full-of-life,
deep neat iotas and home-from-the-sea.
Let's say he wasn't for ovations
from either of us at the moment or
this one, or this. Easy for cats
baby-talked to, holding the nest at home.

Let's say there are many boredoms,
so of interest, some. DAdadaDA.
Leaky boats in a stream of boredom. Still,
I like how Mike riffs on a woe,
his indifference to some boredoms,
change subjects. There's always a bit
in every meal from the garden, games
in the kitchen, made up games,
no joke laughing. I should take up woodwork,
or better: work with glass. Yes, there it is:
a small sphere caught sun, grew noses.
