Disclaimer: I don't see why WB or anyone else would sue me. I mean, honestly, fan fiction is just free advertising! So I wouldn't complain if I were them (which I'm NOT!) Author's note: This is a lost scene from Guess Who's Coming To Dinner. That episode was all about bonding and friendship and such, but there were no P/J scenes! Of course, they did have Joey making a few nice comments about Pacey to Andie, but that doesn't exactly count. Anyway... I decided that they needed one, so here it is! It fits in sometime after Dawson tells Joey about his parent's divorce. Feedback: Seeing that I don't get paid for this, feedback is what makes it all worthwhile! Twilight Zone
(Dawson and Pacey sit at a picnic table outside Jen's house. Joey watches them talk. Dawson gets up and walks away. Joey walks over to Pacey, who's currently alone.) Pacey: Hey. Joey: (sitting down) Hi Pacey. Pacey: I'm guessing you heard about his parents? Joey: Yeah. Pacey: I feel sorry for him. I mean, I guess he was still living in his dreamer's world where--- Joey: (finishing his sentence for him) ---where they really were meant to be together and really were going to find their way back to each other. (They both think about what she has just said.) Pacey: Something like that, yeah. Joey I mean, you could see it coming, but now that it's actually happened... Pacey: It still seems like a suprise. Joey: Yeah. (pauses) I guess things are changing all 'round. Pacey: I'll second that. I mean, who would've thought we'd become friends? Joey: Not me, that's for sure. (They smile) Joey: The thing is... when does it all stop changing? I mean, how long until we settle back into our regular routine again? Pacey: We don't. Joey: Excuse me? Pacey: We're never going to settle back into what you call our 'regular routine'. Joey: (slightly disappointed) I guess. Pacey: Awww... Jo. Don't look so down. Being stuck in the twilight zone doesn't have to be all bad. Joey: Twilight zone, huh? Pacey: Yup. Joey: Wonder what that would be like. Pacey: (pretends to think about it) Well... Jack and Dawson would be best friends. Dawson would finally admit that he still loves you, but you'd tell him that you'd rather he didn't have romantic intentions toward you, and you only want him as a friend. Dawson would give up film, and... oh! We'd be lovers! Joey: (looks disgusted and shoves him jokingly) You wish! Pacey: (chuckles) Well you asked what the twilight zone would be like! Joey: True. But I didn't expect you to come up with something that ridiculous! Pacey: Exactly which part are you referring to? Joey: All of it. (They share a smile) Pacey: So whatdya say we try some of Mrs No-Longer-Leery's pie, huh? Joey: I'd love to.
