Will you find something new and exciting within? Depends on how well / deeply you follow Santana's work. If you normally hear his work only on the radio, you'll very likely hear something new. Like to collect variations of songs you've already got? Well, now you have some more alternative cuts to listen to.
Ma�ana and Truth Don Die (album spelling, no typo) have captivated me so far. But, I must admit, that is because I hear other Santana songs within them. Ma�ana sounds like Europa (Moonflower etc) with lyrics. That might be borne out by the album credits which give Tom Coster the nod on this one. On Truth Don Die, I can hear a bit of Adouma (Shaman). In neither case, in my humble opinion, is either of these songs a disaster thereby. I've always kind of wondered if Europa had lyrics, and if it never did, well, now it does!
Let Me Love You Tonight has a really subtle ebb and flow, along with a great dance rhythm. And Curacion (Sunlight on Water) is a very pretty, slow and contemplative piece.
Certainly the remixes have their own charm and value. Sometimes comparatively minor changes can make a song sound new all over again. Primavera feels different this time around. On the other hand, Victory Is Won, if a remix, has a change so subtle that I can not detect the difference.
Santana's website says this is a limited release of 100,000. How fast they will sell out is anyone's guess, but there are those who will buy one of everything ever published, so if you have any interest, I'd recommend buying it.copy soon.
