| Microsoft Corp...and Daler Mehndi? Yes, the headline is true. Daler and Microsoft were both experienced by me one lucky night. As anyone who knows me knows, that my computer is really old and slow. And there are always problems with it. I have been trying to convince my parents that we need a new one, but they insist that it is fine. Well, one day, the computer broke again. This time, it was the internet that broke. So I called AT&T Broadband to ask them about my problem, and they said that it wasn't their problem, that it was the Microsoft Internet Explorer that was the problem. So they gave me the number to the Microsoft Corporation, and told me to call. So I called, expecting to be on hold for a long time, with boring music and all. To my surprise, I was on hold for 30 seconds, with Stevie Wonder playing in the background. The guy that picked up immediately said, "Sorry about that music. My name is Dave, how may I help you?" I'm like, whoa, right about know. He apologized for the bad music. To check on my family's account, he put me back on hold. I was on hold, then all of the sudden, I heard, "Tunak Tunak Tun, Tunak Tunak Tun, Tunak Tunak Tun, Da Da Da." (For those out there that don't know what Tunak Tunak Tun is, it's a popular Indian song by the world-famous Daler Mehndi...It's also my favorite foreign song.) I'm like freaking out right know. And the music kept playing. The guy came back from hold, and I'm like..."Oh my God...Can you hear the music you put people on hold to?" And he's like, "Yeah, I get to choose what music I can put someone on hold to." I'm like, "Did you hear the song you just put me on?" And he's like, "Tunak Tunak Tun?" And I'm like, "Yeah! That song is great!" And he's like, "My friend sent it to me last night. I thought it would be funny to put it on my hold music and see how people react to it." I'm like, "Well, it's a great song, man." And he says, "I know. I'm glad you liked it. I think I'll continue to use it as my hold music from now on." "Sure thing," I said. So we talked some more for a few minutes, this guy was awesome. He helped me fix the internet, and everything. We even talked about the NCAA for a while, as well as the SImpsons. So remember, when you call Microsoft, ask for Dave to help you. |
